For the Twenty-fifth year, The Frame Workshop will be honored to host a visit by family members of the respected German nutcracker maker, Holzkunst Christian Ulbricht, GmbH.
We welcome Gunther & Steffen Ulbricht, on their second visit since 2019. They will both be here to kick off our annual Christmas Open House. We are extremely honored as The Frame Workshop is only one of three retail stops across the United States part of the 2024 Ulbricht U.S. tour.

Gunther represents the third generation and his son, Steffen the fourth of this well known firm based in the village of Lauingen in Bavaria and Seiffen in the Erzgebirge of Saxony.
Both have inherited great creative ability and are Certified Master Woodworkers in Germany. Many of the most artistic of the nutcrackers produced today bear their designs. In his private time Gunther is a fine artist, painting both portraits and landscapes as well as an avid hunter.

The tradition of an annual tour bird nutcracker continues in 2024 with a Flamingo - This special cracking bird, is a limited edition nutcracker and measures 6-7/8 inches. This Flamingo "Cracking Bird" is available only through select retail dealers in the United States that host a signing event and personal appearance during 2024.
The Flamingo like the Osprey of 2023 and the Barn Owl of 2022 were all designed by Gunther's son, Steffen. Steffen as the fourth generation Master Wood Turner carries on the family heritage and business.

To the left is pictured one of Ulbricht's 2024 limited edition nutcracker designs, an Octoberfest Lover fellow holding a liter of German lager. This richly adorned nutcracker stands over 20 inches in height and is laden with attire that would make him fit right into the Munich scene in late September. He really needs to be seen and touched to appreciate the care and craftsmanship that goes into each and every Ulbricht design.

| Gunther has toured the United States on numerous occasions, and will make another return appearance to The Frame Workshop in Appleton - joining us for our Open House event at our location at 430 E Northland Avenue - Memorial Square!
