For the Twenty-fourth year, The Frame Workshop will be honored to host a visit by a family member of the respected German nutcracker maker, Holzkunst Christian Ulbricht, GmbH.
We welcome Gunther & Steffen Ulbricht, on their first visit since 2019 and the Covid Pandemic. They will both be here during our annual Christmas Open House. We are fortunate as The Frame Workshop is only one of three retail stops across the United States part of the 2023 Ulbricht U.S. tour.

| The 2023 Merry Christmas Santa nutcracker pictured above showcases the attention to detail that is found in every item produced in the Ulbricht workshops. Holding toys and treats on his tray, you can almost see his eyes twinkle.

|
Gunther represents the third generation of this well known firm based in the village of Lauingen in Bavaria and Seiffen in the Erzgebirge of Saxony.
Gunther has inherited great creative ability. Many of the most artistic of the nutcrackers produced today bear his designs. In his private time he is a fine artist, painting both portraits and landscapes.

The tradition of an annual tour bird nutcracker continues in 2023 with an Osprey - This special cracking bird, is a limited edition nutcracker and measures 6-7/8 inches. This Osprey "Cracking Bird" is available only through select retail dealers in the United States that host a signing event and personal appearance during 2023.
The Osprey like the 2022 Barn Owl which preceded it were both designed by Gunther's son, Steffen. Steffen is a fourth generation Master Wood Turner and carries on the family heritage and business.

| This 2023 Osprey becomes the 24th in this series of tour birds that began with "The Woodpecker" in 1997 (Replica of a 1933 nutcracker.)

To the left is pictured one of Ulbricht's 2023 limited edition nutcracker designs, a Santa in Brown Checkered plaid. This richly adorned nutcracker stands over 20 inches in height and is laden with items to decorate for Advent. He really needs to be seen and touched to appreciate the care and craftsmanship that goes into each Ulbricht design.

| Gunther has toured the United States on numerous occasions, and will make his sixteenth return appearance to The Frame Workshop in Appleton - Eleven years now to join us for our Open House event at our location at 430 E Northland Avenue - Memorial Square!
