The Nutcracker
ETA Hoffmann / Maurice Sendak

The tale of Nutcracker, written by E.T.A. Hoffmann in 1816, has fascinated and inspired artists, composers, and audiences for almost two hundred years. It has retained its freshness because it appeals to the sense of wonder we all share. He joined with the eminent translator Ralph Manheim to produce this illustrated edition of Hoffmann's wonderful tale, destined to become a classic for all ages. Illustrations in Detail The world of Nutcracker is a world of pleasures. Maurice Sendak's art illuminates the delights of Hoffmann's story in this rich and tantalizing treasure. Nativities of the World
by Susan Topp Weber

This book includes photographs of over ninety-six nativities from all over the world. Each nativities is shown in full color, with supporting text by Susan Topp Weber. The appendix lists where collections of nativities can be seen in the United States and Europe. The nativities that appear in Weber's book have never been published. Their materials range from wheat straw (Bangladesh) to wrought iron (Ecuador) to churro wool (Navajo) to felt (Kazakhstan) to stone (Peru). An Australian version features native animals, such as kangaroos. A Slovakian artist created a nativity from corn husks. A Czech fiber artist wove the Holy Family from bobbin lace. An Irish knitter stitched the stable scene in wool. An Hawaiian artist made the shelter from a coconut; the star above it is a tiny starfish. Susan began collecting in 1965 and has sold nativities since 1978 in her Santa Fe shop, Susan's Christmas Shop. Autographed by the author, Susan Topp Weber Published by Gibbs Smith Publishers 2013 Jacketed Hardcover Book - 160 pages, 8-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches ISBN 978-1-4236-3246-7
